Starting tonight (January 15th) at 7pm CET, I will be hosting the fifth and final Science of Logic pre-course session, in preparation for the Science of Logic course starting January 16th 2023. You can access the live pre-course sessions via the community tab at Philosophy Portal (click the Zoom link at the start time). In the fifth session, I will be presenting, and we will be discussing, the development of Hegel’s logic. This pre-course session is designed to be a perfect bridge into the logic itself. Some of the major themes we will cover include:

The beginning with Being/Nothing
First categories derived from Being/Nothing
Philosophical meaning of science/calculus/measurement
Dialectic of Quality/Quantity
The containment of becoming
Hegel’s intellectual relation to Spinoza
