This Thursday January 12th at 7pm CET / 1pm EST I will be hosting David McKerracher of Theory Underground to discuss his upcoming course: The Idea of the University. You can attend this free seminar and Q & A by clicking the Zoom link in Philosophy Portal’s Community tab at the start time.
The Idea of the University focuses on both a critique of the neoliberalisation of the university and think the foundation of the Platonic Idea of the university to build its future. Thinking the Platonic Idea of the university is a necessary task for contemporary condition and a productive use of logic as the being of the university is turned to nothing via processes of neoliberalisation and digitisation. The course starts January 14th 2023 and runs until February 18th 2023.
You can imagine, since starting Philosophy Portal, that this idea is close to my heart. That's why I will not only taking the course, and see it as an essential compliment to the on-going work at Philosophy Portal, but I will also be offering a special discount. If you take Theory Underground's course, I will offer a “Tier Discount” for anyone who also signs up for the Science of Logic course (which starts January 16th 2023). The details of that Tier discount can be summarised as follows:
- If you purchase Tier 1 you will get access to Tier 2 (and so on for all Tiers up to Tier 4 -- if you purchase Tier 4 I will also open an extra 1-on-1 day)

I also had a chance to appear on one of their recent podcasts, In Defence of Slavoj Žižek:
