Philosophy Portal for April 2025:
Conversation timestamps:
The Portal @ Wake + Rosy Cross 2 w/ Peter Rollins (0:19)
Christianity in Transition (The Portal summary) (1:06:10)
The first video here is the end conference reflection from Rosy Cross 2 with a focus on conversation with Peter Rollins on both the (at the time) upcoming Wake Festival in Belfast which was hosted from April 27th to May 2nd 2025. Throughout the conversation and Q and A, Rollins and I reflect on what we hope to achieve at Wake Festival, as well as reflect some key points inspired by the Rosy Cross 2 conference as a whole. You can find our more about Peter Rollins Wake Festival as well as access the recordings from the Rosy Cross 2 conference at the links below:
The second video here represents my opening for the last Real Talk session in The Portal for the Christianity in Transition series. Throughout this reflection I discuss the Emerging Church as a contradiction, de/reconstruction inspired by the work of Jim Palmer, situate Brendan Graham Dempsey’s Metamodernism in the context of the Metagelical turn in Christianity, the possibility that the Christian Church and Religion go through fundamental reformations on the scale of 500 years, as well as Metagelicalism, Ross Byrd’s A Parish Manifesto, and Rob Zahn’s ideas about Christianity and counter-cultural revolution. In total, the Christianity in Transition series is a living works that seeks to connect “Ex-Vangelicals” to “Metagelicals” as part of a “Christian Atheist” unity. You can access the recordings at the link below:
You can also access the recordings, as well as four live events every month, by becoming a member of The Portal:
